How do we assure you have the best and most potent cells?

Although there are various established protocols to isolate MSCs from the umbilical cord tissue, we employ xeno-free, early-passage multipotent progenitor cells capable of supporting hematopoiesis and differentiating into multiple lineages (osteogenic, adipogenic, chondrogenic, neurogenic, myogenic, and cardiomyogenic). The first passage selection uniquely provides our patients with the most impactful and efficacious cells.

The isolation process requires strict quality control, safety, and maintenance during the harvesting and expansion process to minimize the risk of genetic alterations of the isolated Wharton’s jelly mesenchymal stem cells (WJ-MSCs). The proliferative potential, the differentiation potential, and the expression of different cell surface markers CD44, CD90, CD105, and CD34 are always evaluated. Chromosomal karyotype analysis by G-banding is also carried out to ensure the genetic stability of the isolated stem cells.

During culture, MSCs are expanded in numbers to reach therapeutically beneficial numbers. However, every time a stem cell divides (self-renews), it loses some of its abilities. In a way, each time a cell divides, it ages, becoming slower and less able to perform its specialist tasks. At Rejuvstem, we utilize only 2 grades of UCMSCs: Premium: Passage 1 Mesenchymal Stem Cells (P1 MSCs) (with higher rates of efficiency) and 2 Mesenchymal Stem Cells (P2 MSCs).
